The Power of Detachment: Next Stop- Letting Go

In life there comes a time when we need to just walk away. The people, places and things in our lives no longer align or the space can no longer contain the person you have become.
You are allowed to outgrow the people, places and circumstances that once vibrated with you. Sometimes the need to move along comes because things were seen for what they are. Other times the universe comes and hits the breaks, and you slam face first into reality.

We all hope for the lighter version the one that grows into the truth, not the version forced to see what it couldn’t at the time. Whether the truth comes from time, wisdom and clarity or from pain, disappointments and betrayal, it’s important to learn and finesse the art of detachment.

Mastering detachment and knowing when to let go, is realizing and positively coping with the truth, when the chapters have closed or the love and respect are not matched. To understand God's path verses your desires. To have the faith that you will land where you need to be when you take that leap.

There will be moments the pain rises up, the loss will feel salvageable, however you also come to the conclusion it is no longer worth the save. Hold on to the memories of when it served its purpose, when it was good and how it helped your growth and know in all times you are in alignment.

One of the hardest things in detaching and letting go what once felt so fond, is to stick with the choice. To move with the acknowledgement and acceptance you wouldn't be at this point of having to release, if change was not needed and most likely never found.

When it comes to the many people that walk in and out of our lives, I’d like to think of the train theory. Life is a train and the people you meet, board your train, some ride for one stop, some travel on the train for years, and others stay on for the entire journey.

As important as the passengers are at the time, it is equally important to know that one day their stop may come. Life changes courses and directions and you realize along the way some are no longer traveling to the same places you're going. Others were there to be companions along the ride, but they were never meant to reach the destination with you.

Don’t be afraid to open the train doors and let them out at their stop and never get caught waiting too long for passengers. Everything is on a schedule, and the train must keep going, no matter what.

This doesn’t mean you love less or you become overly cautious or afraid to connect. Because the beauty in it all, is you don’t know who God sends as the travelers who will ride with you and help you navigate life.

It’s completely up to you to sit back and enjoy the journey, through the smooth paths and the rocky roads. To enjoy the company on your trip, while being the type of navigator that recognizes when the next stop is coming and the passengers need to be let out.
Never forget to return the love and respect you would want, because we are all passengers on someone’s train.

Until next time, travel safely!
